Portrait work is inherently intriguing. As humans, we have been looking at faces since we were born. I think we all believe that certain aspects of character can be read from facial expression and body gesture. As a photographer, it is my task to get out of the way. I strive to make the subject comfortable enough to allow the complexity of their nature to reveal itself – and then capture that!
